ESL Class for Manufacturing

Teaches the terminology of Manufacturing and Electronic terms, discuss vocabulary used in the workplace and show examples where possible, Explain manufacturing processes and how they relate to the skills that are being learned.

Training Program Description

The PLS Hands-on Skills Training program comprises classroom instruction, including lectures, videos, overheads, and hands-on training in Basic Electronics Hands Assembly, Solder/De-solder, Surface Mount (SMT), Thru-Hole, Touch-Up Soldering, Safety and ESD Training. This training aligns with the IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711 criteria. (For the training structure, refer to the Training Program Syllabus)

PLS Intensive Hands-on PC Board Skills Training

Our program introduces participants to Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and Soldering, covering essential topics such as:

  • Lead and Lead-free Solder
  • Component Identifications and Orientations
  • Blueprints and Drawings Interpretation
  • Wires and Components Preparation
  • PC Board Hands Assemblies
  • Hands Soldering Through-Hole and Surface Mount (SMT) Components
  • PC Board Rework /SMT and Though-hole components Removal Methods
  • Wire Stripping, Tinning, Wire & terminals, Point to Point wire Soldering.
  • Inspection methods
    • ESD Training
  • Includes the following IPC- Specialist Certification:

IPC-A-610 Certified: This lectured program utilizes the images in the IPC-A- 610 document to provide visual accept/reject criteria examples for all three classes of assembly production in both lead and lead-free.

J-STD-001: This program provides materials, methods and verification criteria for producing high quality soldered interconnections. The standard emphasizes process control and sets industry consensus requirements for a broad range of electronic products.

IPC-7711: This program is designed for soldered assembly rework– restoring PCB assemblies.
